Graphic Art with Bipper

So, I know there is a bit of debate about graphic art and such... It's not a popular debate, but I do know it's there. When I've talked about art to some of my teachers and a few of them do not care for this new computer method. Others on the internet are saying that it's so awesome. So it's not a huge debate (like the Presidential debates, *yawn*) but it is still a little tiny thing that people either like or dislike... which can lead to debates. Today, in my art class thing. my friend, Rae, taught me how to do graphic art with Illustrator and Photoshop on Apple computers. It was so fun! There were so many colours to choose from, and so many things I could do! I could layer certain things and erase things I didn't like. I'm not saying I hate traditional art now (I still totally love it) but I can do a lot of things on the computers I can't do on paper or canvas. And actually, I do the initial sketch on paper then download it on the computer.
Probably my favourite thing about the graphic art, though, is all the colours! I love colour and it is very amazing. With normal stuff I have one shade to choose from, but with graphic art I can do even more colours!!!! I have so much to learn!
Anyway, here is the graphic art I worked on! It's Bipper (Bill-Dipper) from the episode "Sock Opera" from Gravity Falls!
Initial Pencil Sketch

After a bit of computer magic...
Just so everyone knows, I am planning on doing a cool background for this. THIS IS NOT OVER!!!

Insanely Huge Mandala Speedraw

This is a speedraw of a huge Mandala by the artist/youtuber Peter Draws. It took him about 30 hours, so his video is sped up 400x.
Now, a little more about the history of  mandalas. Mandalas are Buddhist religious works, often associated with the universe on some aspect. "The first traces of Buddhist art were produced in India during the first century B.C.E." (asiasociety.org). Mandalas today are not always religious works. Mandalas happen to be fun to draw, or colour in for that matter. When I was a little kid, my school counselor gave me mandala colouring sheets to help me calm down and talk. (Just so you know, I didn't do anything wrong, I was just really confused why no one understood me. We found out later that it was Asperger Syndrome.)
Here are some older mandalas:

Some of you may or may not find this Mandala familier. It is a mandala used in "The Last Mimzy". It's a real painting.

Learn more about Mandalas here:

If you would like a certain lesson on art, please comment below, and tell me what kind of art.
Thank you! :)

Gravity Falls Main Title Theme

Hello! My name is Chrysanne "Chrys" Houghton. I feel no need to tell you my middle name. Today, on my amazing art blog, I would like to show an Animatic and Final Title Theme comparison of the TV show Gravity Falls. If I hadn't found a little clip that compares both of them at the same time, I would show two different Youtube clips. Here is the link (I don't know if the video will show up. If you are worried about pornography, remember that this is a children's TV show. I am also a Mormon, so I try my best not to show anything like that, unless it is a Renaissance Art piece. That is a dire case that occasionally cannot be helped. I know this because I have a close relative that is an Art Historian.):

Enjoy!
